If She Wakes

Driving. The latest thriller by Michael Koryta is a novel titled, If She Wakes. The title makes reference to the vegetative state of Tara Beckley, who was in a car crash. Protagonist Anny Kaplan is an insurance adjuster looking into the crash, and she knows a lot about driving, thanks to her former career as a stunt car driver. Things are not as they appear, and Koryta drives Amy and readers on a trip that has lots of curves and accelerations.
