Fifties. I picked up Jake Tapper’s novel titled,
The Hellfire Club, out of curiosity about whether the CNN correspondent could write. I kept reading because Tapper tells a great Washington story, set in the 1950s, that was an ideal escape from today’s toxic political environment. I especially enjoyed the finely written dialogue that rang true to my ear. I was thoroughly entertained by this novel.
