Quirky. I was entertained by Josh Bazell’s debut novel,
Beat the Reaper, so I expected to enjoy his second novel,
Wild Thing. Instead, I found more to dislike than enjoy in this novel. Plot, characters and structure tended to be distracting rather than anything else. While I laughed at times, the humor was many notches below the debut novel. Read a sample before you consider reading the entire novel.
