Dislocation. The struggles and challenges of the characters in the novel by Neel Mukherjee titled,
A State of Freedom, are different, but each person faces being removed from one way of living and needing to adjust to a new situation. Mukherjee expresses their hunger and striving with great skill. The extremes of inequality can be leveled when facing dislocation or upheaval of any sort. What are we looking for? What will it take for us to be free?
