Maggie. Protagonists Elvis Cole and Joe Pike take second billing in a novel by Robert Crais titled,
The Promise. The hero of the novel is a dog named Maggie. Along with her LAPD K-9 officer Scott James, Maggie takes center stage in this entertaining crime novel in which the good guys tackle a villain who presents himself as a very worthy adversary. Readers who like crime fiction, especially dog lovers, are those most likely to enjoy this novel.
