Astonish Me

Ballet. There’s a terrific ensemble cast of two generations of characters in Maggie Shipstead’s novel, Astonish Me. There’s a meshing of relationships based mainly in the world of professional ballet. It’s also a story of passion alongside the ways in which we act to get on with life when we face our limitations. The gifted and the ordinary are side by side, and are caught up in desire, love and betrayal. The multiple sets of relationships both repeat themes and stand unique. I found myself immersed in the world of these individuals and was entertained thoroughly by this finely written novel. Rating: Five-star (I love it) Click here to purchase Astonish Me from amazon.com.
