Virgil Wander

Repair. I’ve waited a decade for another novel written by Leif Enger, and having read his novel titled, Virgil Wander, I can imagine that it took him all of a decade to write with such perfection. A small Minnesota Lake Superior town struggles for survival between an industrial past that is gone for good and an uncertain future. Protagonist Virgil Wander requires physical recovery and repair following an auto accident. All characters are yearning for hope, dreaming of a better future, and along the way extending love, care and concern for each other. Virgil’s cinema is a bright spot in the town’s life, and young Bjorn leads the recovery of a sense of community. Readers looking for fine writing and a story of redemption are those most likely to enjoy this finely written novel. Rating: Five-star (I love it) Click here to purchase Virgil Wander from
