The novel titled, Women Talking, by Miriam Toews takes the true story of a community of women, and offers a fictional entry in the ways in which women relate to each other, take control of their loves, and exert power. There are different viewpoints expressed among the women gathered to consider their response: stay or leave; fight or flee. Toews writes with insight, sensitivity and wit as the resilience of the women in the novel show readers a path in life that may resonate for many.
