Here’s a free and important takeaway from Amy Klobuchar’s book titled, Antitrust: Taking on Monopoly Power from the Gilded Age to the Digital Age, she makes the point that this subject is more pro-competition than antitrust. The trusts were entities one hundred years ago. Today’s challenge is that competition is stifled by large entities that wield too much power and influence. In the book she reviews the past and present and offers concrete ways to move toward a better future. I read this book shortly after Josh Hawley’s The Tyranny of Big Tech, and continue to think that these two politicians and others should find common ground to take action.
