Orders. Readers who like character-driven action novels will find a lot of satisfaction from reading David Baldacci’s The Target. Protagonists Will Robie and Jessica Reel are reprised along with other characters from previous novels, so longtime fans will feel comfortable with familiar people. One theme in the novel involves whether to follow orders or not, a dicey matter to consider in the chain of command world of Robie and Reel. Baldacci takes some of the action to North Korea in this novel and the situation there will drive chills up the spines of most readers.
