The Hero

Story. In a rare foray into non-fiction, prolific author Lee Child offers fans a short book titled, The Hero, that summarizes the long history of the story and the hero, in both oral and written traditions. This long essay helps readers think about Child’s recurring protagonist, Jack Reacher, in the context of a very long storytelling tradition. Some of the quirky asides were as fascinating as his core premise. Now that I’ve better versed in the context, I’m ready for the next Reacher installment. Rating: Four-star (I like it) Click here to purchase The Hero from amazon.com.
