Lost. Every few pages or so I found myself offering a fist bump to author William Deresiewicz as I agreed wholeheartedly with so much of what he has to say in his book titled,
Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of the American Elite and the Way to a Meaningful Life. Deresiewicz observed his elite students at Yale arriving with great ambition and a long list of achievements, and leaving with good grades but adrift when trying to figure out the purpose of their lives, and ill equipped to think critically and creatively. This book can be seen as a manifesto for the benefits of a liberal education, especially for our best and brightest students.
