Evil. Leave it to Stephen King to give us a novel titled, Later, about facing up to evil during our current turbulent times. Protagonist Jamie Conklin has the ability to see the recently dead. He learns that when questioned, they must tell the truth. We all wrestle with evil in one form or another, but most readers will feel goosebumps when we read about Jamie’s battle with evil. Isn’t that exactly what we want from a Stephen King novel? Of course, we also end up thinking about good and evil, and there’s never any harm in that, is there?
